The opportunity

A fragmented cloud estate with no unified defence posture

Our client required a unified cyber defence posture across a group whose security intelligence was fragmented across separate cloud platforms, separate tooling and nine operating companies.
Detection coverage varied by entity and by cloud. Logs sat in different places, endpoint posture was inconsistent, and no single view existed of what was happening across the estate.
They also required an accelerated, efficient delivery model for group-wide security programmes — the existing Waterfall approach could not keep pace with either the threat landscape or the wider transformation portfolio.

What we delivered

One platform, one detection estate, one posture

Cloud security platform deployment and unification. Delivered the full group transition to the Microsoft 365 E5 Security suite on a £16m annual budget, securing endpoint posture including generic account remediation for two key operating companies, and unifying security intelligence across the group.
Multi-cloud detection and response. Directed the £11m SOC transformation, including two complex Splunk SIEM migrations and log integration across AWS, Azure and M365. Achieved operational transformation by prioritising MITRE ATT&CK use cases and implementing ATLAS SOAR automation, drastically reducing Mean Time to Resolution.
Workload protection and configuration baseline. Led the global deployment of CrowdStrike EDR, Qualys VMDR and Akamai WAF, and addressed compliance by resolving SureCloud audit points, aligning configurations with CIS benchmarks and optimising Splunk licensing via Cribl.
The delivery model that made it possible. Established an 83-headcount SAFe Agile Release Train across nine entities, driving a cultural shift, defining clear OKRs and automating reporting through Jira and Advanced Roadmaps — with 151 stakeholders trained in SAFe, Product Owner and Product Manager certifications to secure organisational alignment.

Transitioned the group to a comprehensive cloud security platform, enabling unified, multi-cloud threat detection and rapid response capability while significantly enhancing SOC operational efficiency and compliance governance.
Established a robust, strategically aligned cyber security posture across nine operational entities, migrating from a Waterfall to an agile SAFe structure to prioritise delivery.
